Today we have another guest review!  This one coming from The Cookie Sleuth, and it’s another place in Old Towne Orange.  I can vouch for her that she knows her’s stuff, Mrs. DanGarion and I baked some cookies a couple days ago that were a recommendation of the Cookie Sleuth (these rich chocolate chocolate chip cookies, I’ll post a picture of ours later).

This is my new favorite bakery! I had been dying to visit Blue Frog, and it did not disappoint.

For only 95 cents, you can buy yourself a dense, thick, flavorful cookie. I selected the chocolate chunk, double chocolate chunk, and Blue Frog’s version of an everything cookie. All of the cookies were shockingly heavy when I picked them up.
The chocolate chunk was soft, chewy, and filled with lots of large chocolate chunks. Obviously freshly baked and made with high-quality ingredients, this cookie was the perfect mix of chocolate, butter, and sugar. I did not think it could get any better until I bit into the double chocolate chunk cookie. Like the chocolate chunk, this cookie was thick and chewy with plenty of chocolate chunks. The rich, dark chocolate base put this cookie over the top. The “everything cookie” included chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, toasted coconut, and macadamia nuts. I wish there were more chocolate/white chocolate chips to make the coconut flavor less dominant, but if coconut is your thing, this cookie is for you. This cookie was not as thick as the others, but it was just as chewy.

I live in OTO and this is one of my favorite places to eat – great food and bakery!

I was very disappointed, partly because I didnt know what to expect, standing in line for 20 minutes to get up to the cashier to learn that she just wanted me to place an order I was hoping to have a sit down breakfast, that didnt happen, a lot of people in line, I had to order my food to go, then stand around and hope for a table to snag away from someone who just got up. I guess if you got there first, just wanted coffee and a bakery item it would be ok, the food we ordered was not good, cold, in to go boxes of course, absolutely no service at all, I had to go to the counter to ask for water, god forbid I actually wanted something else, back in the line to place that order. Alot of people were ordering bakery items and to go dishes. I was very disappointed in the food and the service and will not go back. If you plan to go for breakfast and sit down at a table, good luck.

I have been a fan of this family owned bakery since they opened…baked goods, breakfast fare and sandwiches all fall on our favorites list. I will take our out of town visitors there when we visit old town. The Staff is super.

  • RIP OFF

RIP OFF, STAY AWAY 1. It's was 1 braised rib, not ribs, and a small one at that. Not good when the table next to you orders the same thing and it is 3 times, yes 3 times the size. 19 bucks, for about 3-4 OZ of meat, RIP OFF. 2. JUMBO PRAWNS, 5 normal sized shrimp, NOT JUMBO, have had bigger shrimp at the Vegas buffet bar. We were still starving after these so called entrees. 3. Arrogant Bastard, great beer, always served in a pint glass. At this place 6 bucks for a tulip. RIP OFF. The topper, the manager didn't really give a CHIT. All he could muster were some b s excuses. GO TO SOMEPLACE LIKE BEACHWOOD BBQ, MUCH BETTER VALUE.
