On a recent weekday I had off I visited Spiro’s Restaurant in Orange, hoping to find another breakfast place for us to visit on the weekends (we usually go to The Filling Station or Arthur’s Coffee Shop). Unfortunately although the service at Spiro’s was nice and attentive, their food well below average.
I ordered the Corned Beef Hash and eggs, along with biscuits and gravy. As you can see from the pictures the corned beef and hash appears to be that of the canned variety. I could almost accept canned hash, I used to love it when my mom would make it from a can when I was a kid, but they missed the key element of cooking the hash till it has a nice crust to it. The biscuits and gravy were average at best, the gravy was bland but the biscuit was edible. The eggs were the best item of the dish, although they were more over easy than over medium.
I’m not planning to visit Spiro’s Restaurant in the future, honestly I think I’d be better off visit Denny’s or Norm’s, but we’ll stick with our normal weekend breakfast locations.

1.5 stars. I agree with this one. Ate there once. Other review sites give it 3 stars such as this one 3 star review. I would at least go to a 3 star place. I will not be visiting this place either.
ciao. James
Thanks! You saved me trip…drive by it all the time and always wondered what it was like. Next time you're looking for local breakfast, try the “Mini Cafe” on Tustin Ave. next door to “The Fling” cocktail lounge. Always good food and never fails to please…family owned and operated as well.
Oh yeah I know Mini Cafe, it's great! I haven't been there for awhile, but I did a review last year. The family that runs it are really nice.
Have you ever tried The Original Pancake House in Anaheim, it's way better than Arthurs synthetic pancake mix and much better than the Orange location which has a slimmer menu than Anaheim. I recommend the skillets with meat and cheese and pancakes are included. Excellent Banana and blueberry pancakes, I have never been disappointed. This place is always hopping and there is always a wait but way worth it and your wifey might like it as well. I willing to bet breakfast on it.

Come on, Arthur's pankcake mix isn't any more sythetic than Original Pankcake house.
Arthurs and McDonalds pancakes taste the same, which is the use of a synthetic mix, pancake house offers a good tasting pancake no BS. I use to eat at Arthurs years ago the only thing I enjoyed was the Southwest chicken salad. Have you had breakfast at the pancake house, not the one in Orange, the two location do not compare?
Well I don't typically get pancakes, so I guess I'm safe. I've never
been to the Anaheim location. Just the Yorba Linda and Orange ones.
The orange location has a limited menu, the Yorba Linda and Anaheim location are the same owner but the Anaheim location has much better food. The three restaurants do not compare to each others food. I was disappointed when the Orange restaurant charged me a plate splitting fee. I have been eating at the Anaheim location since I was seven years old.
Very good to know. The only thing I liked at the Orange location was that they had super thick bacon!
