About two weeks ago, Mrs. DanGarion and I were invited to a special VIP event at the new Blaze Pizza in Irvine. If you haven’t heard of Blaze that’s ok, but you may have heard of one of the key owners in the newly formed pizza chain, Rick Wetzel of Wetzel’s Pretzels, along with his wife Elise and, “The Pizza Whisperer” Executive Chef Bradford Kent. Brad has a major crush on pizza and his infectious passion shows when talking to him.

Overall the pizza was pretty good and if you are in the area I’d definitely suggest it as an option when you are looking for pizza. The ingredients are fresh and the pizzas are made super quick (the whole process takes less than 5 minutes). Plus it’s nice that everyone can get their own pizza for just $6.85. They even have a gluten-free option. As for the S’more Pie dessert I think they could do it much better considering the price. ($2.50), I’d love to see a freshly roasted marshmallow, instead of it premade earlier in the day.
Blaze Pizza does have some other quick pizza competition with Pieology in Fullerton, it will be interesting to see how these two chains succeed in Orange County!
