One out of every 10 restaurants in the U.S. sells Mexican food, making it the most popular style of international cuisine in the country. In America, you will most definitely find popular Mexican cuisine in every state, although some have more of a wider variety than others. Nonetheless, there is no doubt why it has become this way. While the food continues to be the most popular ethnic food segment in the United States with a 42 percent share of ethnic food sales, it is very important that authentic Mexican restaurants and cuisine get the recognition it deserves.

As of 2011, there are 38,000 Mexican restaurants dispersed all across the American landscape providing to consumers. Also, Mexican catering has become incredibly popular in order to cater events and special occasions. But–rightfully so, it has been around for way longer than what we may expect. It is widely believed that Mexican cuisine was derived from what the Mayan Indians prepared as far as 2000 years ago, and has been around ever since in American culture. What many also don’t know, is that Mexican food is by far the most nutritional. Authentic Mexican dishes have also come a long with with integrating with neighboring countries. The cuisine invention of Tex-Mex (which occurred some time during the 1940s) is best example of food integration with our neighbor country, as Texas actually touches Mexico, and the fusion of the two creates unbelievable cuisine.

The most incredible part about Mexican cuisine, is the fact that you can pretty much get it anywhere in the country. There are 67,391 restaurants in the United States that serve a burrito, and other Mexican staples. Also, so many people even carry their own ingredients at home to make their favorite Mexican dishes. It is said that 71% of Americans use these ingredients in the comfort of their home. With Mexican food being every changing and very accessible, it is no surprise that it is one of the best cuisines of all time and it with be cherished forever more. Although it begins to vastly change over time, the classics will always remain and will be served all over the world for years to come.
